Climate and Land requirements:

Safed Musli can be successfully carried out in basically hot regions, except the upper regions of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. The climate is suitable for the rest of India. Safed Musli is a tuber crop. Softer soil is more suitable for the growth of the roots (tubers), so that its roots can grow easily. From the point of view of production, light cotton soil, sandy loam soil, light red soil, light yellow soil, black soil is more suitable and the land should have PH in 6.5 to 8.5 range. Safed Musli is a rain crop and hence, it requires irrigation only when there is a considerable gap (>15 days) between two consecutive rains.
